Welcome to Young Whimsy! 

I am Christy Nelson, and I've been designing clothing for over 15 years now.  I focus on making beautiful children's clothing and accessories in a sustainable, ethical and transparent way. This means that I currently cut and sew each piece you order in my home studio. Young Whimsy clothing is only made with natural fibers, and I hand dye many of our colors with low-impact fiber reactive dyes. You can feel good about the quality of the clothes you find in my shop.

My love of beautiful, natural and vintage-inspired children's clothing has been inspired by watching my own children play and grow. Inspiration comes from life, nature and nostalgia. There is nothing more inspiring than watching little (and big) ones imagine and explore. There’s also that bittersweet part of watching kids grow and seeing them hit that next milestone, saying those new words, taking the next step into the big wide world. I want to be there with you for all of it.

In my shop, you will find durable, comfortable clothes that can be passed down to the next child. I make clothes designed for play, learning, and love, with a little fun and whimsy.
